Week 8.22.11 - 8.26.11 - Sixth Grade and Eighth Grade

6th Grade:  This Week:  exploration in the world of Prime Factorization and Multiplying Fractions.  Syllabus' were passed out on Friday, 8.26.11.  Syllabi due on Monday, 8.29.11 - copies in Spanish will be provided.  These three problems also due on Monday.




8th Grade -This Week:   Students prepped for exploring the Real Number System by converting fractions and other numbers into decimals.  Students will distinguish between Natural numbers, Whole numbers, and Integers, as well as determine rational and irrational numbers.  Students also spent a considerable amount of time ordering numbers and placing numbers on a number line.  Next week students will create a human number line. 

Due Monday:  Problems 1 - 6 due (ordering numbers and plotting numbers) and The Real Number System activity (students are to place 35 numbers into the real number system's chart) - Students are identifying between rational and irrational numbers. Homework activities are pictured above.
